What is the Gospel? - English
The Gospel is God’s love for us as sinners through His Son Jesus Christ (Romans 5:8).
Sin is the broken harmony that we see within us and outside us. It’s not simply a wrong act. It is also a condition of death within us. We are born this way (Psalm 51:5). Because of sin, we deserve death (Romans 3:23).
Yet, God provides a way of escape. He does this by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for us (John 3:16). Yet, Jesus did not remain dead. Three days later, Jesus rose from death (Luke 24:6-7). Through His resurrection, Jesus defeated the power of sin and death.
In summary, the gospel is the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ in an effort to save sinful man from a death we deserve (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). Becoming a Christian cannot be earned. It is through simple faith in who God is, His Son Jesus Christ and repentance of our sin (Ephesians 2:8-9, Acts 2:38). Through genuine faith and repentance, God restores our broken selves and makes us new (2 Corinthians 5:17). His Holy Spirit then lives inside us empowering us toward holy living (1 Corinthians 6:19). Though Christians will not always live perfectly, the power to live holy is possible in and through the Spirit. Denen Grace Church Mizonokuchi Chapel desires for all to hear this message of salvation, and through hearing, many repent of their sin and believe in Jesus as Lord of their lives.
